We’ve made the Onomondo SoftSIM available on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF91 Series, revamped the Network Marketplace to include LTE-M and NB-IoT filters, and improved SIM management with more filtering options.
Learn more about these updates in the release notes below.
1. The Onomondo SoftSIM is now available with Nordic Semiconductor devices
We are happy to share the Onomondo SoftSIM is now available for integration with the nRF91 Series devices from Nordic Semiconductor. The availability of SoftSIM in nRF91 Series-based designs is not only a world-first, but also makes it one of the most compact and flexible solutions for cellular IoT connectivity in the market today.
The SoftSIM itself consumes near zero current consumption in idle mode, compared to an average consumption of 46µA observed when physical SIM are used. This means that the total average current in idle mode of the radio module can go from 52µA to 9.5µA, which will greatly increase the battery lifetime of the device!

2. Network Marketplace: Now with LTE-M and NB-IoT

We’ve been hearing the need for a centralized location for all network availability. That’s why we’ve updated the Network Marketplace in the platform to display LTE-M and NB-IoT networks that are marked as available and Live on the Onomondo platform.
Why it Matters: You can now search for and add LTE-M and NB-IoT networks, in addition to 2G, 3G, and 4G, directly in the Network Marketplace within the platform. This makes it convenient for you to see what networks are available and at what price points, all in one place. Identifying networks that support LTE-M and NB-IoT is also easier now that you can filter for them specifically.
How to Use it: Just head over to the Network List tab in the platform to open up the Network Marketplace and use the new search functionality to find the networks you need. You can filter by network type and country, and the pricing details are also displayed right there.
3. SIM management: Enhanced search filters

SIM management has just become easier. You can now refine your search using a combination of filters such as Tags, Network Lists, Connectors, and SIM status.
Why it Matters: Users can now seamlessly combine a variety of filters to refine their search, so it’s easier to find the exact SIMs you are looking for. This feature also enables you to bulk tag SIMs that comply with multiple filter criteria.
How to Use It: Just head over to the SIMs tab in the platform and use the Tags, Network Lists, Connectors, and SIM status filters to narrow down your list of SIMs. Once you have identified the SIMs you wish to tag, you can select and then choose to Add tags to select SIMs.
