Release Notes March 2024: SoftSIM for Quectel BG95 Beta Release

Onomondo introduces its latest SoftSIM integration with Quectel’s BG95 module, expanding the integration options available for SoftSIM.

Onomondo introduces its latest SoftSIM integration with Quectel’s BG95 module, expanding the integration options available for SoftSIM. This integration enables devices equipped with the BG95 module to connect seamlessly to Onomondo’s global network without the need for physical SIM cards, building on the success of our previous integration with the EG21-GL.

Why?

The integration simplifies cellular connectivity for IoT devices, offering a scalable solution for developers and enterprises. Quectel’s BG95 module combined with SoftSIM’s global network access, enables businesses to develop faster and create more cost and battery efficient IoT devices.

How to Get Started

  1. Contact Onomondo: Start by getting in touch with Onomondo to initiate the testing process for the BG95 integration.
  2. Provision and Flash Your SoftSIM: Use the Onomondo SoftSIM CLI tool for provisioning, and follow the guide to flash the SoftSIM onto your BG95 module. This includes firmware flashing and profile activation.

More information can be found in our Help Center documentation.
  3. Monitor and Manage: Leverage the Onomondo platform to monitor your device’s connectivity and manage deployments with comprehensive tools.

Please note that this integration with the Quectel BG95 module is currently in beta and may undergo further optimizations and updates. We encourage feedback as we work to refine this solution.

This update reflects our continuous effort to refine and enhance your experience with Onomondo’s growing platform of IoT connectivity solutions. For any questions or further assistance, please reach out to our team.
