Multi-carrier SIM cards FAQ
A multi carrier or multi network SIM card offers access to a broader range of networks compared to regular SIM cards. Instead of being limited to a single operator’s network (with some exceptions during roaming), a multi network SIM card can establish connections with multiple operators that share coverage areas.
Typically, this SIM card prioritizes connecting to the network offering the strongest signal quality. This capability is often facilitated by Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) through various agreements they have in place with operators or Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).

All Onomondo SIMs are “non steering”. This allows the device to try and connect to a network with strong coverage instead of being “steered” by predefined list set on the list.
You can choose which networks you want to connect through to the Network Lists feature. Network Lists help you control which networks your devices can attach to and protects you from networks that are available but expensive.
When you get a SIM card from a mobile operator, it often includes PLMN (Public Land Mobile Network) lists. These lists serve as a means to determine the preferred networks for your SIM card.
Generally, these PLMN lists are established based on commercial agreements. The drawback of PLMN lists is that they might prioritize networks with weak signals over those with strong signals. Onomondo SIMs are non-steered SIMs and connect to the network with the strongest network signal quality.

Network Logs show you which networks your devices authenticate with and attach to, including which technology was used (2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-M, and NB-IoT).
